deconcat - browse a file (usually an archive) looking for one or several files Description Open and browse one given file (or stdin) at a time. Check each byte and its following to see if a known header begins here. If it does, write all the following bytes in a new file until it finds a new header. Installing Deconcat looks for a file named '.deconcatrc' (note the dot) in these locations, in order: - $HOME on unix (/home/yourself), or %homedrive%+%homepath% on windows (C:\Documents and Settings\yourself) - the directory the executable is in - the current directory. It will fail if it doesn't find anything. A default file is included, named 'deconcatrc'. You should use it. Be sure to mail me if you complete it! Portability Has been tested on openbsd, linux, wine, win98 (i386) Limitations Can only read files up to 4GB License DO WHAT YOU WANT CAUSE A PIRATE IS FREE, YOU ARE A PIRATE (yeah, this ain't really a license) Author
